  • How Much Will My Divorce Cost?

    The cost of a divorce is determined by how complex the case is and whether or not the issues in the cases are contested. An uncontested divorce is naturally going to cost less than a contested divorce. In other words, if the two parties cannot agree to the terms of the divorce the more expensive the divorce will be in the long run. In addition to attorney fees, you will also have the expense of court filing fees and other expenses incurred during the divorce.

  • How Long Will It Take To Finalize My Divorce?

    In Texas, the law requires a divorce to be on file for a minimum of 60 days before it can be finalized. The timeline of any divorce will depend on the complexity of the issues to be addressed, and can range anywhere from the required waiting period to several months or longer.

  • How Does Child Support Work?

    Texas law provides that the parent not in primary posession of the child or children shall pay childl support based on a percentage of his/her monthy net income. The parent will pay 20% for one child and the obligation increases 5% for each additional child that is the subject of the suit.

    Once a child support order is established child support payments are sent through the State Disbursement Unit (SDU). Put information on what goes on check so it can be proper.
